PERMANENT EXHIBITIONS

ZDENKA BRAUNEROVÁS STUDIO

A permanent exhibition on the life of this Czech painter, printmaker, book artist and

promoter of the arts and culture. It evokes the atmosphere of the original studio that

Braunerová had built to her own design, which was a meeting place for important

people in the Czech and European art world. The Museum of Central Bohemia

won the Gloria Musaealis Prize in the category Museum Project of the Year 2005

for the restoration of the studio and the permanent exhibition.

THE HISTORY AND BUILDING OF THE CHATEAU

A long-term exhibition showing the transformation of the chateau from a moated

stronghold to a Renaissance and later Baroque chateau, using period

documentation, and including a concise history of the locality. The exhibition

includes the presbytery of the former Chapel of St. Justus from the 1380s.

THE BIEDERMEIER SALON

The salon is furnished with furniture from the 1830s to the 1850s, and recalls

Roztoky’s history as the earliest Prague summer resort during the era of the

National Revival, when the estate belonged to the Leder family. Many exhibits come

from the extensive collection of the painter Miloš Malina, which was donated to the

Museum of Central Bohemia.

RENAISSANCE HALL

At the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries the vaulted Gothic hall was converted into

the Great Hall, used for feasts and revelries. Of the original decoration, the painted

beam-and-plank ceiling, flanning and moulding have been retained. It is now used

for special events and weddings.
